I don’t even carry because I don’t go into dangerous situations like that, and if I somehow found myself in one anyway, I’d let them take my phone, wallet, car, whatever. Those things are insured and can be replaced. I can’t think of a situation where being armed would help me. In close quarters, an attacker with a knife would win. At range, I can probably give up my stuff and run away.
