The democrats for the last 30 years, on the other hand, have been exactly two steps behind them and marching steadily to the right.

Dems are always moving to the right. USA citizens aren’t able to properly identify what Leftist policies look like. We’re fucked.

I blame First Past the Post voting. In that system, the two parties have to become big tent parties and cater to the “average” voter that they want to capture.
