Sure, stand up against bigotry, but know the risks and use caution. If you think that vandalizing a sticker, though humorous, is worth the risk, then by all means do so.

I’m not sure why you wanna give shit to the person who points out the risk though. Maybe you should direct more of that anger towards the terrorists and not the person saying to be careful of taunting terrorists for minimal gains?

Ultimately it is the individual’s decision what they want to stand up to. It’s not “catering to bigotry” to choose to avoid a single battle. That’s akin to putting the onus on marginalized groups to educate hegemonic groups when they demonstrate ignorance. It’s a powerful thing when it happens, but it is completely within one’s right to just keep to themselves and go home peacefully for the night.

So maybe it’s time to stop with mere taunting and do exactly what they accuse us of doing. I do not condone violence or illegal behavior.

I give shit to the person who is always concerned that the far right fascists might retaliate because that avoids discouraging their bully behavior.

“I am going to do a minor thing to express displeasure at their implied threats of violence.”

“No, don’t let them know their behavior is bad because they might get violent!”

Every single time. It gets old.
