Pic taken on top of the Frauenberg (hill of our dear lady, the chapel carries the same name) in Eichstätt, Bavaria, Germany. Hope you enjoy. AlexSlapnuts on imgur painted my pic in watercolor, which is very pretty, too:

My dumb ass has (with C2 German) never made the connection to Mary with things like frauenberg. I’ve just been like “yes, womens mountain makes sense, perfect.”

It’s like how so much stuff in France is named “Notre Dame de whatever”

Yeah, I was just expecting Dame, because of “lady” in English and “dame” in French. I didn’t realize it would be under Frau.

This is exactly why I’m doing most of my posts bilingual: It’s a fun way to learn such things. I also tend to translate location names, such as Oaktown for Eichstätt.

Here is the full album that I created this way if you’re interested: Today I went on a walk with my dad in my hometown https://imgur.com/gallery/z1ddA72
