If only they would have EVs right now.
For realsies. We own a Tesla, but I’d rather swap our 2002 Honda CR-V for another Honda EV SUV. Hoping that will be a solid choice in 2025 or so. Doubt we will get a Prologue.

On a serious note, it’s weird how Honda and Toyota are so behind on EV’s. Even the godawful American automakers have competitive (to say the least) EV’s. I’m really looking forward to seeing what those folks can do eventually. I can’t decide whether it’s good that Honda is starting with a car nobody will buy or not. On the one hand, high tech sports cars that trickle down to more mundane cars is a proven game plan. On the other hand, if the car doesn’t do well, it may send the wrong message about what consumers want (we do want EV’s that are fun to corner in, I swear!).
The Toyota heir is head of the Japanese government automotive committee and he is very much against BEVs. They tend to follow his lead which has become disastrous for their Chinese endeavors. But Nissan and Honda had a backup plan and has executed it. Honda teamed up with GM and Nissan cranked out an EV crossover.
Nissan is another surprising one. They had a huge lead with the Leaf and then did nothing with it. Hopefully all the Japanese mfrs can get on board sooner rather than later.
