Per developer acmeplus, Beta version 0.8 of Koriki for the RG35XX is now available.

Koriki is a still in development custom firmware that combines the SimpleMenu front end with a fork of the GPU enabled firmware
from Batocera (in fact, it has replaced a cancelled port of Batocera to the RG35XX). While the RG35XX ships with a Quad-core PowerVR SGX544MP GPU onboard, it is disabled in the original firmware, and thus in Garlic OS. Seeing it enabled should give the 35XX a bit more juice.

Nice to hear. I wonder if it can save state at shutdown and load state at power on like stock firmware and garlicOS?
