The judge overseeing the criminal trial of Donald J. Trump held the former president in contempt of court for violating an order barring him from attacking witnesses, jurors and others. Testimony is expected to resume soon.
The judge is being very careful to not give even the impression that he’s not treating Trump fairly so that Trump has little to nothing to appeal.
He did warn Trump that further violations would result in jail time. I’ll believe that when I see it, but it’s not like the judge could go straight to imprisonment.
