One unfortunate thing that I’ve noticed being a burb cyclist from the West end is that the distances are just too damn long. Even when there’s good infrastructure, getting from mid Mississauga to the subway is 45 to an hour. I’ve found that ebikes can help with that by allowing a higher average speed, especially by shortening the zero-to-cruising speed time. I’m definitely not saying that bike infrastructure in the burbs is pointless, it isn’t. Just that ebikes make it a lot more useful.
