This is pure speculation, but perhaps it’s not bigger news because it’s economically unpopular to announce how viable clean energy can be? I mean, California is as populated as entire countries. If it’s well known that California can meet most of it’s needs via clean energy, it may raise uncomfortable questions about why it’s not happening in other areas.
