You think following the science is opposing the transgender movement?

    No.

Evidence based medicine is the best approach. Now studies need to follow this to generate the evidence.

Interesting take given the conservative stance on masks during the pandemic. The evidence for masks as nuanced and complicated, and yet, conservative insisted masks were wholly ineffective, which is just false.

In other words, I think “evidenced based medicine” is instrumental rather than a guiding principle for conservatives.

That’s why I said this study still doesn’t mean anyone should oppose the transgender movement.

I was shocked at the changes that were happening in the past as they defied previous studies and evidence based medicine.

Isn’t that the conclusion of this study? The evidence is largely inconclusive and it’s not certain.

Cloth mask are pretty ineffective. That isn’t a conservative take, that’s science. Conservatives just latched on to it but doesn’t change the science.

The science does matter. It just happened to match what the conservatives felt.

That is why Sweden did not enforce cloth masks. The science didn’t show them as effective.

lol. You think the one of the worlds leading experts is wrong. I love the ego of the left. He’s been an advisor to us government forever.

That’s great! I didn’t say he was wrong. But he’s only one authority. At best, I should tentatively accept his conclusions while seeking a consensus among many in his field, and, better, at his level.

The appropriate response to an authority is other authorities. An even better response is a consensus of authorities. And even then, a consensus can be wrong, and so we should accept their conclusions as the best explanation until additional evidence is uncovered the is definitive. I mean, you should know this, being high IQ, well educated, and all.

Then cite authorities of his caliber. I’ve never seen anyone be so dismissive of osterholm who is considered the expert of experts in the field. Hm

Since I’m educated I also know you did some weird AI search that pulled up discredited studies.

There are two sayings I’m fond of regarding authorities:

                    1. No gods. No masters.
                    2. When you meet the Buddha, kill him.

I don’t even care about my authorities, let alone any that you offer. I’m more concerned with what is the true and morally uplifting. And since there was once a group of highly educated authorities that once believed washing your hands was unnecessary and killed a bunch of people as a result, which demonstrates that even the most educated group of authorities can be wrong, I’ll maintain my position.

I don’t care that he’s an authority. And I don’t think he’s wrong. Rather, I think his analysis is incomplete. There is evidence that cloth masks work. They may not be as effective as N95s and respirators, but that’s doesn’t mean their wholly ineffective, which is the conservative stance.

Being so smart all and, maybe you should look outside of authorities you agree with and see what they have to say and why.
