I brought everyone together to reminisce over memories and yearbook photographs. We learned where some people went off to and that a couple died, did drugs, became strippers, et cetera. lol It really did feel like we were in high school again, except we were of drinking age. I talked to people that I actually didn’t talk to in high school and felt appreciated. I did have three sips of a drink which was stronger than I had thought it would be and I currently still feel a bit woozy, but it was definitely worth it.

    was this your 10- year reunion? I’m gen-x and graduated with a class of 100. we have not had any reunions at all. I feel like I’m missing out on this American experience.

      I was class pres during senior year so technically I’m supposed to organize our reunions but I got the vibe that everyone was either going somewhere they didn’t want to come back from or the people who stayed would’ve just kept in touch if they were interested in the first place.

          Most certainly did not, government teacher tricked me into it after saying we wouldn’t have a class pres at all. It’ll be easy they said! You won’t have to do a thing they said!

        When I reached out to some of my old classmates the general consensus was that the we only wanted to forget out highschool years.

        2008 - 2012

        Yeah those were some hard years for a lot of us.

        So it was basically decided that were weren’t going to do it

    I love that it went so well for you! Were you popular in high school? Were you still in touch with many people? Did you take many photos and were any of them recreations of fun shots from back in the day? What was the biggest pleasant surprise of the night? Did anybody go in a direction that totally shocked you, but in a good way?

    I had a rough time in school (✨Undiagnosed Neurodivergence in Rural America✨) and have never had any interest in keeping up with anyone, but I find it marvelously fascinating to hear about different experiences, and honestly - I love spectating a reunion! 😂 I’ve gone to a couple class reunion functions with my husband for his class, and I really enjoyed seeing him interact with all his old friends and hear their stories. I reached out to a couple random people from my childhood/teen years last summer around my 40th to check in and thank them for their positive influence and friendship, but I think that’s the closest I’ll ever get to my own reunion.

      I was not popular. I did not keep in touch with too many people. We recreated one shot. The biggest surprise was that I became the life of the party with the yearbooks; I didn’t think they would be such a big hit, but apparently nobody knows where they put their own. No big shockers.
