IHIT took over the investigation and said Thursday that 35-year-old Yang “Christopher” Liang has been charged with second-degree murder.

“As the parties were known to one another, investigators believe this may have been a tragic incident of intimate partner violence,” Cpl. Esther Tupper of IHIT said in a statement.

Investigators said last week that two people were arrested at the scene. IHIT confirmed Thursday that only one person was charged.

Murder is a daily occurance everywhere, this is not a news story.

There were 26 homicides between Vancouver and Surrey in 2023, so it’s not a daily occurrence here and is always a tragedy.

What an awful thing to say.

Pretty sure it’s the same person who thinks expanding WiFi access in Downtown East Side is not news worthy, went on a huge rant about LGBTQ during that Chinatown Lunar New Year parade debacle, and largely supportive of anti-vaxxer/freedom convoy… that kind of person.
