I didn’t like Universe, stopped after the first season, never came back to it.
Then I got my wife into Stargate and after we were done I mentioned there is one more show, which is not that good. She wanted to try it, so we did. I came into it with 0 positive expectations and oh boy was I pleasantly surprised. S1 was not as bad as I remembered it and S2 was better, especially its seconds half.
Universe S1 was a shift to a different type of show, but more importantly it lacked the Stargate spirit. They must’ve realized it because S2 was much more Stargate, it had the spark. I was genuenly sad it was cancelled after S2, would love to have more of it.
