Netanyahu has seen his popularity plummet in opinion polls since Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack that sparked the devastating war in Gaza.

Anti-government protests that shook the country for much of 2023 have largely subsided during the war. Still, demonstrators again took to the streets of Tel Aviv Saturday night calling for new elections, which are not scheduled until 2026.

The crowd was much smaller than last years’ mass protests, numbering a few thousand, according to local media.

“I’d like to say to the government that you’ve had your time, you ruined everything that you can ruin. Now is the time for the people to correct all the things, all the bad things that you’ve done,” said one protestor, his head wrapped in an Israeli flag.

Almost all politicians support Israel and the military industry that profits from them. It’s how they get paid.

That doesn’t make Biden less responsible for things like UN vetos and congress bypassing. He still did it.

And? No president would do otherwise because it’s in the interest of the US. All you people complaining about single issues fail to grasp the bigger picture of how the US works. The US operates on interests. Those interests are held by corporations and the wealthy who control those corporations. Without the backing of the rich, you cannot become President. It simply will not happen.

It’s also how we make sure democracy as a practiced concept doesn’t perish from the reach of humanity under the weight of oligarchs with unlimited money from Iran, Saudi Arabia, China, North Korea, and Russia.

They’re not perfect and I’ll vote against them and fight them in court whenever possible but I’ll take the oligarchs from America, Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, the European Union, Australian, Southy Korea, Norway, and Japan, any fucking day. Shout-out to anyone practicing democracy, New Zealand, that I’m forgetting that let’s people vote on public policy and leadership, oh yeah Israel obviously, too. Special shout-out to France also, an original partner.

E: Southy Africa in the mix since '96.

But support for Isreal is an easy way to launder public money into the private ownership, 28.6 billion dollars since October on top of the 3.8 billion we send every year. Won’t someone think of weapons manufacturers?!

This is the first time I’ve heard about the rally around the flag effect not working to boost the president’s approval ratings.

It’s hard to do when there’s so much evidence you funded the terrorists and ignored warnings that they were planning something to kill a couple thousand people.

Something like that would never happen in America, right guys?
