Seems rather obvious tbh. Players are given a schedule, told what to do, punished for disobediance, and exploited of the value of their labor like everyone else. I dislike collegiate athletic programs in their current state for other reasons but once the athletics became an industry instead of a service provided by the school for amateurs this should have already happened.
My question is whether this means they, and every other student athlete, can now sue for back pay?
So I guess they get paid at least minimum wage now?
This should extend to any music and dance performers who put on shows that people have to buy tickets to attend. They should get a cut.
