Why are we lumping women and children together?
As a result of the more than 100-day conflict, UN Women added, at least 3,000 women may have become widows and heads of households and at least 10,000 children may have lost their fathers.
So how many men died to create so many widows and fatherless children?
In a report released Friday, the agency pointed to gender inequality and the burden on women fleeing the fighting with children and being displaced again and again. Of the territory’s 2.3 million population, it said, 1.9 million are displaced and “close to one million are women and girls” seeking shelter and safety.
So close to 1 million are men and boys?
UN Women’s executive director, Sima Bahous, said this is “a cruel inversion” of fighting during the 15 years before the Hamas attack on Oct. 7. Previously, she said, 67% of all civilians killed in Gaza and the West Bank were men and less then 14% were women.
Ah yes, much less cruel for men to die.
TBF at least in this conflict/genocide it makes sense to count them together because Hamas doesn’t have women fighters. Israel can’t claim they’re terrorists.
But by doing so are you also not giving validity to the idea that all males are combatants?
And let’s be real Israel gave up the PR game and is basically openly calling for genocide of everyone.
The assumption is that women and children are not, or cannot be, fighters. The morality is that women and children are worth more.
I’m a man with two small children. My wife was treated like a goddess while pregnant. Never seen anything like it, very eye opening, had never seen a person so societally elevated. Humans, rightfully, place a premium on the lives of women and children.
It’s how we mammals, evolved. From a perfectly brutal perspective, and ignoring smaller factors, I can splatter my seed everywhere. The woman has to take it from there, and that’s one hell of a burden.
As much as I love the idea of sexual equality, it’s simply not true when survival is at stake. So yeah, as a man, I’ve learned my life is worth less. And I’m fine with that.
tl;dr: Suck it up boys. Your life barely counts vs. women and children. You got plenty of other advantages.

Don’t try to bring up biology as some sort of excuse for this behavior when our closest relatives are matriarchal, and our ancestors have been cooperative breeding since before we were even anatomically modern human. Not to mention we posses the ability to rise above our base instincts and apply thought and reason to our actions. What you witnessed was not a biological predetermined truth, it was a social construct.
Don’t “suck up” discrimination, stop this ‘man up’ attitude.
It’s also pretty fucked up to infantilise women like that.
Israel is so much better at killing civilians, than Russia!
