Incredibly beautiful destruction of a Russian tank by a drone💥

Near Avdiivka, soldiers of the Central Security Service and the SSU forced the occupiers’ tank to evaporate by aiming at it directly in the BC.

It was not us who bought this drone, but we know this unit, we help them and will continue to do so, so throw it in the gutter👇🏻

Are these t80s just horribly designed? Considering that drone can’t really be carrying more than like 200 or 300g of explosives, aren’t these just way too easy to take out?

Tandem shaped charge + autoloader carousel = turret toss competitor

Don’t need large explosives of you just have to poke a small hole

The T-80 is supposedly from the better lineage of Russian tanks.

The T-72 and its descendant the T-90 are even more vulnerable to turret tossing critical self explosions.

I’m confused… Was the payload some sort of giga bomb or did the FPV hit the fuel, ammo storage? Like that just straight exploded with zero foreplay.

The ammo storage on Russian tanks is a ring around the inside of the turret

This creates a huge vulnerability where all you need is a shaped charge to punch a hole into there and you can have the explosive firepower of whatever rounds are still inside the tank.

Even as a complete military/strategic layperson, I’m looking at that image and going, “oh, that can’t be good. What moron thought up that design??”

If an inexperienced civvie can instantly recognize a doozy of a flaw, it’s a stinker to be sure.

Now, if the turret was completely isolated from the main body of the tank, such that the crew were completely protected in the event of an ammo breach, then fine. But I’m seeing a massive hole inside of the turret ring in OP’s video. With modern tech, you would think that having a completely detachable turret could actually be a thing, such that it could be isolated from the main tank with enough armor to keep the crew safe.
