Yeah, every time the GOP moves right, the Dems chase after them. That’s why they’re now to the right of Reagan, some of them significantly so.

They’re desperately trying to cling to the tiny slice of the population between the most right wing Democrats and the least right wing Republicans while ignoring the dozens of millions of Americans to the left of the DNC.

Except at election time where they demand “unity” (read: obedience) of the left in spite of offering nothing in return except (usually) not being quite as awful as the alternative 🤦

Depends whether you count the ejection of people like Liz Cheney as “fracturing,” I suppose.

I guess maybe it won’t really be a “fracture” until those people form their own new party instead of continuing to (delusionally) self-identify as Republicans.

Imagine if the democratic party was as sneaky, underhanded, dubious, and shit to carry out their evil agendas of allowing people to live a quiet life of acceptance and without major medical complications bankrupting them while they enjoy a little more time off with better pay.

Maybe if they were, then one of those plans might actually happen instead of the almost nothing we’ve been getting. They’re too afraid of angering people who WIL NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER vote Democrat anyway.

Yeah I’ve thought about that before. I mean as gratifying as it would feel to get a big victory for the progressives, I suspect opening the door to such behavior on the left only normalizes it for all govt and creates a point where there’s no going back. Suddenly govt is corrupt beyond redemption.

Yeah, no. While significantly better than the previous system, the ACA was a huge giveaway to the medical insurance industry.

Which makes sense when you consider how the corporate Dems recieve more in legal bribes from that same industry than Republicans do.

That thing that Republicans crippled at every opportunity? The poor replacement for universal Healthcare that had to be put out because actual Healthcare reform won’t happen in current times without people ignoring the stupid minority who doesn’t understand that true universal healthcare will eventually SAVE money on Healthcare for everyone in the US, including what you pay in taxes.

Fuck all the way off with “both sides” bullshit. Only one side wants me and mine dead.

Not all criticism of corporate democrat greed is “both sidesing”. It’s a fact that they are raking in tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars in legal bribes from the insurance industry every election season.

It’s also a fact that the ACA passed with 0 Republican votes, meaning that the ones who were responsible for making it extremely lucrative for the donors and not universal single payer were all democrats.

Just because the ones on the other side of the aisle are much worse (and I’ll not for a second deny that. They’re a literal fascist party) doesn’t mean that the DNC leadership cares more about you than their owner donors.

Biden even said that he would veto M4A, based on a false talking point directly from PHRMA.

The giveaway was mostly to fund electronic medical records and the upgrade to standards in line with the WHO documentation standard. The money that was provided was usually not enough because so many organizations were basically starting from the beginning. I was at a top ten health in the US org, and it took years to build our system and when the ACA was approved, we really started to make a lot of big jumps in progress

Bullshit. The vast majority of health care funding goes to health insurance companies profits, not fucking record keeping 🤦

              The money that was provided

I’m talking about the money STILL being provided every day of every year. Whichever cherry picked one time payment you pick, it’s nothing compared to that.

I was at a top ten health in the US org

Ah, so THAT’S why you’re so adamant about defending the ACA! You’re one of the ACTUAL primary beneficiaries!

when the ACA was approved, we really started to make a lot of big jumps in progress

That’s an odd way to spell profits.

Do you even know that the bills are generated by your medical record? If it’s not in the record how do they know what to charge you?

People don’t tend ‘their’ gardens in USSR. All gardens belong to the govenment. They tend to the government’s gardens, and voluntarily give their crops for the proliferation of the Communist Revolution.

      Clapping hands was accurate though.

You can own a garden in communism though. The distinction is personal vs private property. But yes that does mean you don’t own farmland privately.

America doesn’t hate dynasties. Sometimes I think America is more obsessed with the British royal family than the English.

Just look at how many Americans obsess over the Kardashians. Just look at who America elects. The Kennedys, the Bushes, the Clintons, etc. If Michelle Obama ran for president, I strongly suspect she’d win.

Look at how America treats the ‘first lady’ like she’s a defacto queen. It’s genuinely weird. Why should someone unelected have power, have an entire office or represent the president at events, just because they’re married to the president?

That implies queens are innately figureheads. Monarchs have power, by original definition of the political title, and are made figureheads when stripped of active usage of that power.

Everybody hates dynasties until they find someone to idolise. Junior being batshit is possibly the only thing that could make Americans (and frankly, the world) fall out of love with the idea of the Kennedys.
