That looks really cool. Meteor impacts, you think?
I believe it is, i was hiking just outside of the Sudbury basin where a massive meteor hit. There were dozens of these impacts. They look completely different then any of the sample coring they did.
So does the fact that it’s all black mean that the impacts predate Sudbury’s industry?
Yes, as far as i could find there were a few chipped rocks nearby and you can see the layer of black “tar” ontop of all the rocks.
Could it have been lightning? Does the rock absorb water that could have flashed to steam?
