After really hosing things up yesterday, I seem to have solved at least some of the image problems. Not all of them. I rebuilt the mercure and messenger configs from the ground up using the most recent bare metal config templates and that seems to have helped. Also, I continue to live on the edge with the development channel of the kbin repo - there were a number of fixes contributed that looked like issues we had, so I applied those.
Throughout the day today, the site probably was up and down and all around - that was me trying to get things right.
Let’s see what I can get done tomorrow while I’m off work and the rest of my family is out of the house.
One thing I’ve noticed is that I can see some communities within an instance from here, but not others.
Two examples:
Works: https://fedia.io/m/[email protected]
404s: https://fedia.io/m/[email protected] (But it does exist https://programming.dev/c/golang)
I think a 404 means it’s not been subscribed to yet (isn’t federating yet). Vs “Empty” which https://fedia.io/m/[email protected] now shows which I believe means nothing new has been posted since it was added to the subscription list, so to speak. I think I added it 8 hours ago as you can see on the bar on the right side it now says “Created: 8 hours ago”. To add a new community you seem to have to search for that community on this instance you want to add it to. Although I thought you had to add a
!
in the search bar but that didn’t work for me when I was adding it, had to search for it without the preceding exclamation markEdit: It no longer says “Empty” as there’s been a new post so hopefully should be working for peeps!
