Update: just went to a Samsung store and they replaced the screen protector for me. Didn’t cost anything other than an hour of my time. Inner screen is back looking brand new. Very satisfied!

My screen protector that the phone came with has starting peeling away at the top of the crease. I first noticed it around 2 weeks ago but it’s been slowly peeling more and more since then. I know Samsung offer (at least in the US) 1 free replacement within the first year of purchase but it has been tricky find a store that has the replacement screen protectors in stock. Anyone else have any experience with this?

I replaced the inner screen myself on both the Fold3 and Fold4. Bought a Milomdoi kit for it on Amazon. $20. Easy to install both times. Looks like new. Samsung took the Fold3 as a trade in for the 4.

I removed mine from my Fold 3 after it started peeling after ~ one year of use. I used it for another year without issues; the screen felt more like plastic without a protector. I peeled mine off slowly, starting from a corner and applying as little force as possible. I think most people don’t have any issues with removing it, but you never know. I’ve seen a post or two from people who broke theirs doing it. If I had a valid warranty, I would have replaced it at a Samsung store.

I keep hearing lots of mixed things about screen protectors and warranty and insurance. This it’s nice hearing that you can replace it yourself with a good one. I do have some that came in a kit for the fold 5. This is my first foldable. I ordered them primarily for the outer screen protector. But will keep them for the day I will inevitably need them. My mother also got the fold 5 after she saw mine. Traded in her note 20 ultra to Verizon for $1000 trade in.
