    Looks painful coming out. I’ve seen that on our chickens before, looks like too much calcium maybe?

      This is probably a pimpled egg. Those are likely just calcium nodules stuck to the end of the egg. It can indicate an old chicken, or a dietary issue with malnutrition or mineral imbalance. Our chickens eat an excellent feed of whole grains produced by a local mill. It includes calcium and mineral supplements so in our case, where this only happened once, we chalk it up to an older bird doing something weird.

        Right, I do recall some weird anomalies with our eggs once our chickens were getting old. Good info!
