Supporters of safe cycling in Toronto are rquestioning the why cyclists are on trial for speeding while a motorist who was involved in a collision with a rider is having their charges dropped.

This kind of whataboutism is what drove me out of cycling advocacy back in the “Why should I wear a helmet when cars exist” era.
Don’t speed in the park. Obey stop signs. Yes, drivers can be dicks. Be better.
It’s not really whataboutism in this case, more of a counter to the prosecutor’s office argument about lack of resources. If they have the resources to go after speeding cyclists, they should have the resources to go after a driver who hit someone.
