I’ll try and keep this story brief, but there’s a bit to pack in.

One of the advantages of being your own boss is that you get to say when it’s knock off time, and you can get in a de-stressing walk after work and before a couple of cheeky pints at the local. My walk is the same route everyday and there’s one house in particular that I walk past where the very old owner is always tending to his garden. He’s so proud of it, but over the years I’ve seen him struggle more with maintenance.

So that’s the background. On Friday I’m running late for my walk beers and I walk past his house 15 mins later than usual. I get to his house and the old fella had just tripped over and is on his back in the garden. Another old fella is trying to lift him up but can’t manage it by himself. I jump in, we get him up, and he’s fine once he had his walking stick. He lives on a very quiet street, not many people around. If I’d been running to my usual schedule, I wouldn’t have been there at that time to help.

But it gets stranger. On the way back from the pub, I’m listening to ABC Melbourne Drive With Raf Epstein on the earbuds. On Fridays he has a feature called ‘Changing Track’ - listeners write in with their story and the song that means something to them. Fridays’ song was ‘Let’s Dance’ by David Bowie.

As I walk home, I get to just by the old guys house, Bowie sings the lyric “If you should fall into my arms”.

I know it’s probably one of those coincidences, but…just odd.

You are one of those people tho, aren’t you?! :)

I reckon the earliest I’ve queued is 7am back in 2016/17 for a tablet PC which was obsolete within six months. Still got it in the garage somewhere, with a bunch other tech I can’t part with.

The only time I queued at Aldi was when they used to open at 9:30 and I arrived after 9 and I couldn’t be bothered going back home.

I’m 80% sure there is a mouse or mice living in my bedroom, my cat spends half the night trying to catch them but my doom pile, his covered litter tray and my shelves give them the perfect sheltered path. Gonna have to place traps in my room and reconfigure.

I have spent the last two days filling mouse traps, it keeps outsmarting me.

This time I thought for sure he wouldn’t be able to get the food out without setting it off, Mission Impossible’d it.

Mouse traps have bred smarter mice. The mice that can steal food from a trap are more likely to live to have large families.

It doesn’t say it was created in Indonesia, it’s tagged as being written in the language Bahasa Indonesia. When you post or reply, there’s a combo box to select the language. If you don’t select anything for a reply, it will follow the language of whatever you’re replying to (hence why your comment that I’m replying to is tagged as Bahasa Indonesia, too, but I’m marking this reply as containing English).

The bot for some reason tagged the post as containing the language Bahasa Indonesia.

Some people are going to be wondering why they’re seeing this thread tagged with the wrong language.

    Oh no, bot failed ☹️

Some sort of timeout error, more changes required. I guess it was not ready to stay up all night unsupervised after all.

I think I am going to have the bot make a new post set to English, the lack of visibility could cause problems.

The bot set the language of the post to Bahasa Indonesia. If you don’t select a language for your reply (combo box on the left below the text entry box), it defaults to being tagged with the same language as the post you’re replying to.

Correct, and it also meant several people here didn’t see it until I told them to change their language filtering preferences.

It’s also going to confuse people who’ve configured Lemmy to show Indonesian language content who suddenly end up with this in their feeds.
