    It’s “better” because it keeps the yoke of oppression on the staff, and pathological managers absolutely love that kind of control. Ditto the ability to supervise / micromanage / breathe down people’s necks.

    This manager may not yet have had as direct a revelation as to be able to put the above into words, but they know what they like.

    I know what the environment at Amazon is. It’s a fucking toxic dump of a workplace. There’s two levels of employees, the 5-to-lifers, and the new guys. New guys get blasted, overworked, burned out, and if they acclimate to the environment they become 5-to-lifers, otherwise, they just get churned out and spat back into the gutter.

    Amazon literally said they were going to run out of hireable talent by 2025 because they’ve literally chewed through everyone.
