I realized I interacted / posted / commented less and less on reddit these last couple of years. Couldn’t even tell you why exactly. Now I’ve been here for a week and, I don’t know, I just like interacting again… Hope it stays like this for a while :)
I’ve been using reddit a lot since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine started for support (I’m Ukrainian). I must say, I sure miss r/NCD and r/Ukraine, but am not planning on going back on reddit. I hope similar communities will eventually develop here.
I am not Ukrainian but live in Canada which has a pretty large diaspora. I’ve been following the events closely and it’s heart-wrenching. I live in a university town and there are students here who obviously cannot return home. So the mayor, together with Ukrainian community leaders, set up a fund to help them through these times, and I’ve contributed what I can to it. If I could give you a hug, I would!
