Howdy!
I’ve recently upgraded to EE’s 1.6G* connection and need some recommendations for a networking switch? I think I will need a 2.5G switch, correct? Whole home is now on Cat6.
I’ve been watching ServeTheHome and think I’ve got it down to a few I think are decent.
Zyxel MG-108 (£119.00 GBP)
TP-Link TL-SG108-M2 (£180.00 GBP)
QNAP QSW-1108-8T (£119.00 GBP) (Black Friday)
TRENDnet TEG-S380 (£126.00 GBP)
Of course other recommendations are welcome! Ideally 8 ports (currently 6 in use) or more and under £200 GBP inc shipping I don’t think I need PoE(?) no devices I have use PoE anyway (for now).
* 1.6Gbps download / 1.3Gbps min. guarantee / 115Mbps upload.
Currently have 2x 4 port 1G switches around the house with VM Gig1 but taking these both out and routing new direct Cat6 from new 1.6G hub direct to just 1 single switch.
Thanks!
I would get one of the no-name Chinese 8-port RJ45 + 1 SFP+ switches based on the RTL 8373 that are cheap and use very little power.
