    Isn’t it the opposite? It shows that it isn’t. Nobody here thinks better of UAE or SA because of football. In fact, it’s help bring to light stuff like this. No one here would have known of Mansoor and Al-Najjar’s plight otherwise.

    Sports washing mostly works only one way, from the west to the third world. It only draws criticism and hate, when the converse happens.

      People whom I know and support city loves the Abu Dhabi group and infact supports them. Most of them are indifferent to the owners.

        They’re the minority within their own fan bases, surely? It’s so with us, though who knows? That might change with trophies. Still, more people are against man city than they’ve ever been. Even Guardiola sarcastically refers to how city have ruined football. I’d say it’s a net negative?
