It’s not SA that’s the problem here. I’m certain SA is a nontrivial factor, and I certainly wouldn’t want to imply that SA isn’t a big deal. It definitely is, but that’s not the issue I’m talking about.
Interactions from random strangers, especially on the internet for women, is definitely not a fun experience. The random, unsolicited creepy/“romantic”(also creepy)/unwanted messages from completely unknown dudes, not infrequently including pictures of penises, does not (and bluntly should not) inspire confidence for women in general. I’m certain we’ve all heard the stories of the kinds of messages sent to women on the internet.
IMO, this mountain of unsolicited content, is creating the problem.
