My usual rec in this space is also self-published – Joel Shepherd’s Spiral Wars. I usually describe it as Mass Effect like MilSF, with a bit of a Star Trek Voyager vibe after book 5.
I think I got through book 2 or 3 of Spiral Wars and never started back up but I think it’s time to. I remember them being pretty good.
I believe Tholin’s books are on Amazon but you might find them elsewhere now I’m not sure. Hopefully you enjoy them! If you don’t love Iron Truth I wouldn’t recommend continuing on, but if you do you’re in for a treat.
