It’s fascinating, and I agree that AI is essentially an extension, or new layer on top of the neocortex. The interesting part is that each higher layer is beholden to the needs of the lower layers. How will the AI layer of the cortex work to please the reptilian desires of the brainstem? Or just the regular neocortex?
