So apparently now at Costco, you have to have a membership ID that has a photo of you on it and they won’t even let you get in line to pay for your stuff unless you show your Costco card with a photo ID or with a photo on it if you have a Costco card that doesn’t have a photo on it then you have to show them your drivers license and they won’t even let you get in line until you show this. At the other place we don’t have to do this and we don’t have any issues with getting checked for membership through the store.

    At Ontario Costco’s you have to show membership on the way in the door, about half the time. And always at the register. Generally they’re not looking at the picture, it’s about 2cm high on the back, sub-potato quality.

      This is mostly about self checkout, the cashier’s have always checked the picture. And the greeter is just checking for the presence of a membership card, and if you say pharmacy they have to let you in no matter what (in Canada anyway).

      I was at the Markham Costco yesterday and there was 1 person for 9 self checkouts and she was not happy about it. Nobody checked, this may be a US thing for now
