BackgroundThe City of Vancouver is considering ways to support existing and new corner stores, and other small-scale shops and services in residential areas. This is part of a broader, Council approved strategy to create more complete neighbourhoods, where people have easy access to daily and weekly needs.This survey invites you to share your thoughts on the types of commercial and other activities that you might like to see in these spaces, along with details about corner store buildings (height, location, etc.), and nearby public space. I completed this and urge you all too as well. I’m fully in support of small businesses operating in residential neighborhoods. I would only want them to be places where you’d conceivably run a variety of errands or gather as a community. Ie convenience store, Cafe, small event space yes. Nail salon, 2nd hand store, insurance agent: no. I’ve submitted my opinion but could have my mind changed.
