I mean Alberta has been the wealthiest province in Canada per-capita for quite some time. The fact that they haven’t gotten their act together with respect to power generation should be kind of embarrassing. It’s one thing to say “we can’t stop emitting carbon we’re titans of industry and agriculture” but a whole other thing when everybody needs electrical power and somehow the province with the most money to fix it is doing quite poor at fixing that. While there aren’t as many places for hydro out in the prairies, I mean Ontario runs on nuclear plants.
