14·21 hours agoThat’s a lift and trollies around these parts, pal!
My son was ill on Friday too. He wasn’t sick but he was extremely tired, complaining of a headache. Got back from school, had a shower an went straight to bed! Fortunately he felt better the next day. I hope your son is feeling better now!
Had a pretty decent week! It was my birthday during the week, so I had the day off with Mrs Blackn1ght, had some brunch, went for a nice walk and managed to get some Minecraft time in with my son, which is virtually impossible at the moment. Had a really nice overnight stay at a lovely pub in the Lake District on Saturday, had several hours to myself on Sunday to watch the F1, uninterrupted.

5·1 day agoI enjoyed the race. Those Ferrari starts are something and will definitetly spice up the next few races. No doubt the other teams will figure something out with the starts as the season progresses.
Poor Oscar, what is it with Aussies having such shit luck at their home race? Lindblad looked decent, hopefully it’s not just a one-off like we sometimes see.

Formula 1@lemmy.world•Why Aston Martin and Newey feel "powerless" in Honda's F1 strugglesEnglish
6·4 days agoThe consequences are twofold, as Newey explained on Friday. On the engine side, Honda needs to focus on a significant performance deficit with the internal combustion engine, but that is not yet possible because vibrations – and therefore reliability issues – overshadow everything.
“I think there’s a very clear action on Honda to try to reduce the vibration,” Newey said in the FIA press conference. “They are working on that. It’s not going to be a quick fix because it involves fundamental balancing and damping projects that they will need to conduct. I can’t comment how quickly they can achieve that but that has to be the main drive.
They’re developmentally so far behind. The vibration issue is sapping all their resources for what could be going into adding more performance, and the fact they can’t even give a timeline must mean it could be many weeks or even months before it’s sorted. And in all that time, they’re getting no valuable data on their chassis.

3·5 days agoHe’s definitely one of the PMs we’ve had, but any Tory PM from Thatcher (although I know very little about John Major) onwards have been way worse than Starmer. This is actually one of the few moments he is standing by some principles.
The Tories and reform are giving him shit for not joining in with the attack.
