I’d argue having a lower ratio is indeed better to determine the more rounded player

Hope so, I think they will have more chances. As football is evolving, hope they create more new records for higher quality football

Crazy to imagine that everyone bar Mbappe managed to achieve numbers like these in non-farmers leagues. Respect

It’s been the 5th best league for a long time, it’s not massively out from the Bundesliga either. Both are easier to score leagues.

Interesting - that’s almost my list of the most talented players of the 21st century in exact order, except Mbappe is lower and where the hell is Thierry Henry

He led the league in goals and assists one time, and always is scoring, not too surprising he’s here imo.

Him making this list in spite of spending almost his entire career at a B-tier top team is impressive. Put him at prime Barca or City and his numbers would be even higher.

Messi, no words. Also, shout out to R9. The man was a monster, and still a big what if story due to the knee injury.

I get these are straight stastics but they should be weighed a little differently. Ronaldo should be #2 considering the insane numbers he has in each category. Fuck math and ratios and shit lol

I am not sure what your objection is here, normalizing per matches played is exactly the way to make this fair.

It might be a bit better if the ratio was G+A per minute rather than per game, or removing penalties (since not all the players here were penalty-takers for all or even any of their teams).

      What would you prefer?

3 of top 4 were on a team together and they didn’t even sniff a Champions League title. Strong statement on individuals not winning trophies in world football.

That front 3 would not have won the UCL even with a bald manager of your choice with prime Milan backline and the best 3 work horse CMs of your choice + every refree decision going your way. Not in today’s football anyway.

MNM occupy same spaces when you let them loose. This is like Cancelo x Grealish problem but on steriods.

All 3 of MSN were in their prime at the time, while Messi and Neymar were already past their prime when they played together with Mbappé at PSG. And 2015 Barca had a much better midfield than 2022 PSG.

Exact same thing happened to me. It’s surprising how playing for a team like that really does feel a bit like wasted time for a lot of players. Not in terms of money but just general relevance.
