Messi also won the world cup and won the golden ball , which is the biggest trophy in the history of sports

Don’t see it happening. Leverkusen are very good, and Bayern are riddled with injuries and can now only get two titles anyway and probably are not good enough for the UCL.

England winning the Euros would help, but watching England nearly get battered by Malta puts a dampener

To be a real.contender, Bayern would have to win the CL or a actual miracle happens and England win the Euros.

Ironically, I do find it hilarious how Kane’s value has shot up by playing in a better team and dunking on worse teams and hes finally getting credit.

Kane to bayern is one of the transfers I totally got even when most here thought he would not do it due to shearer’s record. It was clear that he would be a ballon dor contender if he moves to bayern.

I thought he would end up at Madrid. I think a lot of people felt that Kane would not see much prestige in winning the Bundesliga (and tbf, when asked about his goals for the season he mostly talked about the CL). I remember a comment that got a lot of upvotes when Kane was announced went something like “winning the Bundesliga as your first trophy is like losing your virginity to a prostitute”.

I kept telling people these last few years at Spurs that he’d become at least a top 5 player in the world and they’d call me crazy. Or that saying he was as good if not better than lewandowski was ridiculous. Now if I said he’s top 3 no one would bat an eye. He’s doing what he’s always done, hasn’t gotten any better, just on a more dominant team. He’s world fucking class and has been that way since 2015

He partly suffered due to how shit Spurs was, partly due to people getting used to his level. This is actually normal for him, yeah.

His 2020/21 season does not get talked about enough. Top scorer with 23 goals, Top playmaker with 14 assists.

It is legitimately up there with some of the best PL seasons I’ve watched from players like Salah, KDB, Hazard, Rooney, etc.

Difference is all of those players did it in title winning sides. Kane did it with 7th place Tottenham.

Didn’t even win the PFA for it.

Last year’s doesn’t either. 30 goals in an 8th placed side that was a complete basket case.

it’s gonna be funny if the record stood for 40 years only to be broken twice in 3

I love Kane. But let’s not jump to conclusions and upscale the first few matches to a whole season. For all we know he could stall at those 17 goals, or break all records with another 40 goals. Let’s wait and see …
