A new, unexpected musical partnership has been revealed recently — Magnatone shook hands with Guns N’ Roses’ legendary guitar player Slash. The news comes as a bit of a shock since Slash has been using Marshall stacks for some 30-odd years, and they’ve been a part of his image, equal to the top hat and sunglasses
Slash clarified: “To clear up any misconceptions that might arise, although Magnatone and I have been working together to create a new Amp, I still maintain my long relationship with Marshall and look forward to continued collaboration with their incredible team.”
Awkward! Can’t imagine two direct competitors wanting to put out competing signature models.
Definitely doesn’t happen often. As far as I know, Clapton once had a signature guitar from Gibson, Martin and Fender on the market at the same time.
In the end, everyone who is interested will benefit.
What are the other late 80s glam band guitarists using these days?
Modelers/Profilers, probably.
Guns n’ roses was glam?
What’s he up to these days? Besides switching, of course.
I heard he was playing the guitar sometimes
With a hat on?
G’N’R reunited, so he’s been playing with them again.
He has quite an active solo career, recording with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators
His self-titled 2010 album really shows his versatility. Every track is so clearly in the genre/style of the featured artist, yet still so clearly Slash.
