We all know that completely ending racism is a platitude, there will always be depraved individuals to ruin things. But how the bloody hell does the FA expect to end it from their side when they’re seeing racism where it doesn’t exist and handling situations like this? It’s like the people who say they “hate drama” often seem to be the ones stirring it.

Onana was a hero in that match, Garnacho is his teammate

it just doesn’t make sense Garnacho insult Onana out of the blue

so yeah, racism should be viewed depend on the context, it’s just wrong to punish Garnacho especially if Onana didn’t feel offended by it

Tbf the FA trying to take action against garnacho could be considered matchfixing against us as we’re more likely to lose without him in the lineup

Footballers need to remember that twitter isn’t the WhatsApp group chat.

You know what you can get away with when talking with friends. When speaking to the world you need to consider everyone’s reaction.

Footballers should generally be careful what they publicly post… at the end of the day they’re just footballers. Shouldn’t expect them to act like politicians

By this logic you can’t call a black kid a cheeky monkey? Can we still say monkey bars if a black kid is on them? Can we sing the little monkeys jumping on the bed song with black kids any more?

Also is a gorilla OK to anyone not black? What about to Indians or pacific islanders? Tanned Spaniards?

This wouldn’t offend me either but the FA set the precedent with bernado silva though so at least a 1 match ban and a £50,000 fine required.
