A fitting thing to be the top comment on a post like this, but the other guy’s version on the earlier post was so much better.

An almost theatrical performance, felt like I was really there seeing the journalist try it. Actively coming to the realization that it was not a useful strategy. I have no link, I can only relay my recollection as tribute to the original verbiage I enjoyed so much.

I love ER’s messaging system, feels far more complex and expressive than in other installments!

I have a thing for leaving cryptically poetic messages which (I hope) click just at the last second, an “a-ha!” type thing. Also, the emotes are deliciously theatrical!

I’ve never likes the multi-player aspects of soulslikes. I tried ER as intended for a bit, but I swapped to offline a few hours in. The messages can be helpful, and are often funny, but I just find it messy and busy, and like the more quiet experience without.

I like the online part just fine, but it feels like a completely different game. When I play offline, it’s like I’m in the world of the Lands Between. I’m myself on an epic quest, even though I have a meme name and a meme face. When playing online it’s like I’m playing a video game where my character does things.

I usually prefer to play offline, even though I like the online parts.

And I love playing seamless coop with a friend, it’s like going on an epic quest together.

That’s perfectly fine. The online component is entirely opional after all and if you’re not into co-op play or invasions, you’re fine just playing offline in favour of not seeing messages
