Enjoyed s1 and s2e1 was good.
I thought S02E01 had too many flashbacks. Not much actually happened. But I’m still excited for the rest of the season.
I thought S2E01 was decent. Definitely going to watch the rest of Season 2.
I enjoyed season 1 and I generally dislike the “streaming company does a series based on famous sci-fi author’s work” format.
Debating whether to start reading the novels or watch the streaming series and then go through the novels.
I haven’t seen the show yet, but I have read the books and they are awesome. They start excellent and just keep getting better. I should probably re-read them now huh
Good to hear. I might have to just go for it and start the novels, I will most probably end up watching the series anyways.
The first season diverged from the first novel significantly and I felt like it was a much worse story because of it.
The author did a great job in world building and storytelling that just didn’t work on screen.
For example, the opening vignette is the sheriff walking up the stairs to leave the Silo. It’s an in depth meditation on the worn steps, his personal feelings (but not motivations) and concludes with the somewhat shocking death.
That just didn’t happen in the show as effectively.
I haven’t read book 2, and I’m not sure I will.
This actually makes me want to read the books even more.
I am curious why you don’t think you’ll read the second and third books.
Book one ends on an interesting note.
Book two goes back in time to show us more history.
I just wasn’t in the mood for a retread of ideas that were hinted at in book one and were largely just themes or stories ripped from Fallout
Not to say it was bad… just not excellent. I’m a harsh critic
If you liked Silo, give Fallout a shot as well.
I couldn’t help but think of Fallout once she’s outside.
Really? The first season has an interesting premise but spins around with empty episodes. Dunno if it gets better by the end. The cast is great though
Haven’t seen s2 yet, and in hindsight does seem repetitive, but I feel it works for me because it reinforces how crazy/committed you have to be to undertake her course of action.
The biggest hurdle and whiplash for me was that the show shifted to staring basically the third lead a few episodes in? Rebecca Fergusson’s character is introduced in the last few seconds of the first episode and I can’t even remember if she has lines.
I agree. Season 1 felt hollow
