Absolutely devastating story. Gaudreau was supposed to be in his sister’s wedding today. Instead, he and his brother were stuck by a drunk driver while cycling last night.
This is absolutely awful. I hope the drunk driver is put in jail and never allowed to drive again. That poor family… The sister’s anniversary will always be remembered for her brothers dying instead of the happy day it was supposed to be.
I imagine they are gonna throw the book against the driver. All the prosecution has to do is put his sister on the stand and any jury will want to give the maximum sentence allowed.
Oh, no. He was my fav player. I live on the other side of the planet where no one cares about hockey, but my signed #13 Gaudreau Flames flag is proudly on the wall. He was a very nice person and player.
I used to drive drunk when I was young and stupid. A headline like this really makes me appreciate that I never killed or hurt anyone (just myself and a parked car). Eff.
