Almost all carbon credits are a scam.
There is an answer: just tax CO2 emissions. Like, a lot. The problem is that it will take a foundational shift in US politics for that to be an acceptable answer, and we don’t have time (negative time more or less) to do that. And so, a whole fuck of a lot of people are going to die and a fuck of a lot of the planet is going to become unlivable. Like, not that long from now.
I’m a big fan of reform over pure punishment…
But I’ve already got a guillotine ready, these fucks are past reform or repayment, and just need to be disposed of, in an environmentally friendly way.
Nobody calls a surgeon a “butcher” for “disfiguring” a person when they cut away diseased, cancerous flesh.

Carbon offsetting is a greenwashing scam. You can claim to have done something without actually having to have done someting. Last Week Tonight covered this topic in one of their episodes.
