Don’t underperform in a team that Helmut Marko controls :D This is gonna be interesting for both Danny and Yuki. If Danny is shit again then that’s likely his F1 days numbered. And if Yuki doesn’t outperform a Driver with two horrible seasons and a half one out of practice, that’s not a great look either.

Not only for Danny and Yuki. For Checo as well. They’ve put a lot of pressure on Perez as well with their driver on loan construction and statements about his excellent on front times. Timing otherwise is a bit strange.

Makes sense to get some data on Ricciardo vs Tsunoda if they are thinking about replacing Perez.

F1 on Twitter is brutal imo, 12 tweets about that Daniël is back. Only in the “breaking tweet” mentioning he is replacing Nyck. I feel bad for Nyck.

Even on the announcement on Formula 1 they said one sentence that Nyck was being replaced and the entire rest of the article his name wasn’t even mentioned anymore.

As ruthless as Red Bull can be, I didn’t think this would actually happen. AT doesn’t seem to be enough of a priority for RB anymore to get this panicky about poor driver performance. Maybe this is less about Nyck underperforming at AT and more about freeing up a seat to start auditioning replacements for Perez.

Helmut has been very vocal lately about his desire to fix AT so it’s not a shitbox at the back of the grid with the haas

Didn’t even make it the whole season. God damn.

Crossing my fingers for Danny and worried about Checo.

It really starts to feel like Checo is a glorified seat warmer for Ricci.

Checo has these moments of brilliance, and usually under the biggest pressure. But he just doesn’t have the consistency he needs to be WDC. I know that the comparison is a tall one, but being partnered with a guy like Max who’s at his peak really highlights all of Checo’s flaws.

If Checo was the lead driver and Max wasn’t in the game, I think Checo could take WDC this year, but it would be a hard fought win, nothing like this run away dominance we’re seeing with Max.

Hopefully the magic is back and we can get him in the Bull next year! If he at least beats Yuki and scores some points I feel like Checo is going to shit house sized bricks

I did not expect Danny to step in halfway the season. I did not see that coming.

This seems like a way to see who can replace Checo if he continues this awful run of form. I don’t see Yuki as deserving of a top seat, so Ric has a golden opportunity to get back into a top car if he performs well.

The car is total shite, we saw what he could do in a Williams and that car is better than the AT this yea. I think it’s harsh but I guess that’s F1

But what did he actually do in the Williams? He drove a clean race on a track with 7(?) real corners in a car that naturally would have performed well at the track. It was a great job for just getting in the car, but it didn’t show anything special.
