Article by Eurogamer arguing that The Game Awards are a sideshow which fails to recognize the conflicts in the video game industry and hardly even acknowledges internal criticism.

This entire article reads like Eurogamer is upset at Geoff Keighley’s success. The awards definitely have problems and are more of a marketing opportunity than a recognition ceremony, but the reasoning listed is petty and asinine.
Not allowing developers to insert political narratives and industry gripes into their speeches makes sense for this context to avoid controversies. The 30 second speech cutoff was extremely frustrating to watch though.

I am glad that there are an unlimited amount of game of the year awards that can be handed out to different games.Its an awards show why would they care about any of that? Its a circus for the AAA games and casual gamers who also dgaf.
