❗️There is outrage at Barcelona for referee Sánchez Martínez’s performance yesterday and there is growing concern at the club about the performances they receive every week.

The lineman Raúl Cabañero even wanted to hear what was said in the Barça dressing room after the game and waited outside the door there instead of going to his room. This caused an argument in the tunnel with Barça’s press members.

This is coming from the club that shaped Spanish refereeing for 20 years, and had every conceivable refereeing stat in their favour during the time they payed €8M to the second most senior referee.

    What’s the saying?

“When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression”

What are you even getting down voted for? Anyone who watched the match yesterday know how equal the ref was to both sides

I don’t routinely watch la liga, but the couple of games I have watched, it did seem that Barcelona were being prejudiced against in the referee decisions.

Though, I think that’s the result of refs trying to not appear to favour them cos of the Negreira case rather than some other conspiracy.

Ffs is it that hard for some people to read more than the title? The linesman trying to eavesdrop on the players and then acting tough infront of a Barca press member is embarrassing

I don’t watch much LaLiga but the refereeing yesterday was atrocious, if I was a Barca fan I’d be fuming. Midway through the second half he was just giving everything Atletico’s way, gave 1 or 2 yellow cards that weren’t even fouls

It’s a bit more simple than that. The team for the past 3-4 seasons simply do not speak with the referee. They protest next to 0 decisions. We get eaten out week after week by the opposing team who is crowding the reff at every opportunity. That ends up having an impact.

There have been 3 or 4 absolutely stonewall penalties for Barcelona this season not given. Its hard to think its anything other than deliberate at this point, especially when VAR are available. The one of Felix at the weekend is completely unjustifiable. Watching the game it really felt like the referees didnt want them to win
