Good. Hope Leverkusen and Wolfsburg follow suit. Having them be so widely accepted in the league really dulls the argument of German fans against Leipzig in my opinion.

Good news, but also predicated on the opinion piece of the Cartel Office.
If Hoffenheim now go back to their original position and return to the Bundesliga the propper way, they could become a respectable club.

it’s funny seeing that in everywhere else aside from Germany (and other 50+1 nations like Sweden etc this will be a end of a feel good story lol

I still dislike 50+1s implementation, but good.

I mainly dislike it because of Bayerns (and the leagues) holier than thou attitude. Towards like Leipzig when they (Bayern) get way more support from corporations than Leipzig ever has.

Its like FFP, designed to keep big clubs big.

The bundesliga 50+1 system is the most fan friendly system. it’s not perfect, but it ensures affordable match tickets, cheap beer, and a gernally good experience. This results in full stadiums at all levels, and great atmospheres

This. Their position in the Bundesliga, with its revenue stream and attractiveness to young prospects who can then be sold on for a profit, has become more or less self-sustaining. So you still have a lifeless village club without history or fan culture taking up a spot in the top flight while massive clubs like Schalke or HSV are stuck in the 2nd league. Hoffenheim would never have gotten above Regionalliga level (fourth tier) without Hopp’s money, so the damage is already done, even if he divests now.

I’ll never understand the hate Hopp or Hoffenheim get.

He took over his boyhood club that he played for as a youth it’s not like he took over a club he has no connection with and with the talent they have brought through it’s not like they’ve been bad for the Bundesliga.

And Schalke and Hamburg deserve to be in the 2nd league for the way they’ve been managed over the years. Hoffenheim being in the Bundesliga doesn’t change how they’ve ended up.
