I’ve seen a lot of stuff like this from Boehly. Also when they got rid of the fan bus or something. Not good for the club.

Not sure why he needs direct communication from the CEO or the owner to be told his services aren’t required.

Did Pat told you he wanted the CEO or owners to come and communicate with him?

Nowhere in the article was it suggested that he needed direct communication from the CEO or Boehly. They just included those two in the list of people he had not heard from, including any department heads.

He was basically given no communication at all until just before the season and even then it was sort of a gradual reduction of duties with no reason given.

It’s definitely a non-standard way of letting someone go.

Way too much information missing to care about this.

Was he always alerted before the year whether or not he’d be involved or was this season different?

Did he not receive any communication at all or just not from the owners or CEO? The article specifies that the publisher of the program told him - so it goes against the point that Law is trying to push here.

Have other media personalities been let go that got the message from ownership or the CEO? I don’t see why they would involve themselves in specific media talent decisions.

Dropping a club legend from that role unexpectedly is something I would have thought warranted comment.

He’s not just a “media personality” though. Plus, if you have someone in a role long term, it’s common courtesy for someone at the place to inform him that it’s ending.

Not surprised, these owners are gutting everthing Chelsea related. They want their own puppets installed. Doing wrong at every level.

Nevin is one of those rare pundits that seems to just love watching a game of football. Like McCoist. They’re all about the joy of the game rather than moaning about everything. I’m all for that. I used to enjoy his weekly chat on Off The Ball on Newstalk before they went behind a paywall.

The thing I like about Pat is that even when he’s watching dross he’s chipper about it. He’s just seems like he’s got a really good outlook on life.

This is completely uncalled for, Pat Nevin is wonderful person, Chelsea through and through, and beloved by pretty much everyone.

I don’t know how many non-Chelsea fans are familiar Paul Canoville and the abuse he suffered throughout his time here as our first Black player, but Pat was the only teammate that came out and publicly defended Paul.

That’s the quality of person we’re talking about here.

I’m sure they can sign another media personality to an 8-year, 300k a week contract with that hidden Putin money. Maybe stick him upfront as well.

Not saying is right but it literally happened ages ago.

That cretin Matt Law (who’s lucky to even have a job after the Rudiger situation let alone still working closely with the club) is looking to cash in on fans anger after the Newcastle game.

There’s literally nothing likeable or redeemable about Chelsea whatsoever is there

Would just be great if they stopped existing.
