Everyone who watched the Ramos-Pepe CB pair back in the day knows they could’ve been sent off twice as much, easily.

Yeah it’s worded a bit bad. I just wanted to make sure it doesn’t include only straight red cards but 2nd yellows as well

Imagine if the referees weren’t complete idiots, how many red cards would Ramos get.

The funniest thing is that he asked the ref to video review the second yellow card so the ref actually did it and changed it to a straight red

He’s averaged a red card every 18 games for us, so he’s already upping his game lol

I had someone defending Romeros boneheaded reds referencing Ramos as their litmus

Even if he keeps that average and let’s say he plays 36 games a season (which is highly unrealistic but easy to calculate with), he needs 12 more seasons. He would be 37 by then and Romero with 37 is either retired or playing in Argentina and Ramos is probably not done either.

Not really praised, just like a funny thing to note about him and his playing style.

He certainly is a very dirty player, but it’s undeniable that even with the red cards, his presence on the field is tremendous. If you have a team that can fill in the occasional hole of a suspension by Ramos, like Real Madrid did, he shines through.

Kinda like Romero right now, except Spurs don’t have the depth to cover for his suspensions.

Yea, Ramos’ recklessness and aggression was part of the reason he was so good. The man went to war every single game for better or worse. His red card record is a byproduct of that. It’s not a bug, it’s intentional design lol.

Lots of defenders did that without being anywhere near as dirty as Ramos. You don’t see guys like Puyol on these lists.

Not a lot of defenders scored in 2 CL finals, won the competition 4 times and the Euros and the WC. If he could repeat his career I am sure he wouldn’t change a thing about it.

He shouldn’t be. Imo people consider him one of the greats because of his leadership on the pitch and his goalscoring ability. His defending is subpar compared with other defenders.

Well, if the letter of the law was applied he’d have four each season just from the derbies.

Just remember him and Diego Costa lmao
