I have been trying to send wired internet via coax FROM my office (where I’ll have my cluster of wired devices) TO my bedroom where it’ll connect to a network switch and my Xbox & TV. I’m having trouble mapping what I’m suppose to do. I have a GoCoax Moca device in each room but am not getting internet to my Xbox via possible DHCP errors I apologize for my handwriting and my dying pen.
My equipment as of now
Office
- Arris Surfboard 6190 with LPF
- Eero 6+
- (2) GoCoax Mocs Devices
- Network Switch
- Wall Coax Port
Bedroom -
- Network Switch
- Xbox
- TV
- Wall Coax Port
In your picture, you don’t show how the 2 ports (red) are connected together. You need a moca compliant splitter to connect these 2 rooms together.
I have the the splitter. That’s a problem I’m having, how to use my splitter and get the GoCoax to work
Dumb question, but you have an Ethernet from the Eero going to the MoCA adapter near the modem, correct?
Have you tried this setup:
In the office: Eero router LAN port (Ethernet cable) -> (Ethernet cable) goCax adapter 1 (coax) -> (coax) office coax port ->
In the bedroom: bedroom coax port (coax) -> (coax) goCax adapter 2 (Ethernet) -> (Ethernet ) bedroom switch
My question with the very bottom one which is very close to my current non working setup - I have 1 coax port on my modem, 1 on my wall, and one on my GoCoax box. So I’m confused on how I’d go from Eth cable - router - eth cable - GoCoax - splitter (2) Out Splitter (1) is in my office, I don’t have splitter (2) yet but if it would make the job work it’ll be on its way
Start simple.
Do you have a Moca POE filter… where is it installed?
I’m using a MoCa GoCoax device Hooked up in the office . Coax > splitter (in) > splitter (out 1) > modem Splitter (out 2) > GoCoax > ethernet cable > eero
